03 -2016 Another Fournier Marcadier barquette has emerged, thanks to Jean Yves Glenisson, a Renault dealer from near Aubusson. Jean Yves is a fan of small, lightweight sports cars such as the Lotus.

With the help of friends he has restored a very rare late-1960's FM kit, based on a Barzoi, but without its roof and gull-wing doors. This hybrid barquette followed on from the famous FM01, having a similar silhouette but being very different in construction both of the chassis and of bodywork with tiny side doors.

The existence of about ten of these hybrids is known. Several have seen historic competition, notably in the hands of Jean Paul Paoli from St Tropez, who retired from competition in 2011. This particular kit was purchased by Jean Claude Lamure from the original FM factory on the Route de Vienne in Lyon. It remained in his possession, largely unused, until he sold it, in 2010, to a purchaser in Ardeche. He, in turn, sold it on to M. Glenisson in 2013.

Its restoration has taken all of the past three years. An Alpine V85 engine from the same era has been selected and, after much thought as to the colour, the car has been painted in a splendid midnight blue. Its first outing in the Creuse countryside was a great success. A real barquette, retaining its sporting heritage but now somewhat 'civilised', it possesses a remarkable power/weight ratio.
