05-2016 The 6th Seyssel hillclimb attracted a full entry with 57 participants along with a further 70 in the 'demonstration/regularity' category.

This National Championship event is unique in that it is for Historics only: the hard work and enthusiasm of the organising club, ASA Mont des Princes was well rewarded, with bright sunshine over all three days and a good number of spectators in this beautiful Haute Savoie region.

The course comprises 4.4 kms, initially sinuous then opening out for a series of very fast bends. Two Marcadiers were entered by their loyal owners. Pascal Ferretti brought his 1600cc Lancia- engined barquette, as did Gilles Coursoux with his ex-Coupe de l'Avenir 1300cc Simca-engined prototype.

In practice they dominated Groupe 6, with Gilles taking 6th place in the overall classification and Pascal 4th, once he had changed his gear ratios, having suffered from too 'short' gearing for this very fast climb.

Fastest in practice were Edmond Gustarini in his magnificent 2-litre Hart-engined F2 Chevron followed by Bady's 1600cc Renault-engined Martini.

For Sunday's timed runs, the order remained unchanged except that Marc Debeaune, in his quick van Diemen, finished ahead of Pascal. Our Marcadiers took the top places in Groupe 6, and Gilles finished 5th in the overall classification.

In addition, Pascal took the Groupe 6 record, with a time of 2.39.300. It had previously been held by another Marcadier, Vincent Lagache's, with a time of 2.43.600 done in 2015.
