06-2015 A childhood dream has finally come true for Claude Lermigny, who is about to finish restoring a Barzoi. Its first run is scheduled for this summer.

Claude, who loves Alpines and Lotuses too, spent his youth in Levallois, on the outskirts of Paris. Every day, on his way to and from school, he passed several small workshops where competition cars were being constructed.

One day his attention was drawn to a curious little berlinette: it was a Barzoi owned by a certain Jean-Claude Hrubon, who had prepared and raced a Mini Marcos at Le Mans.

Even now, that first encounter with a Marcadier has remained ingrained in Claude's memory.

And, 40 years later, he acquired one, with its original mid-mounted R8 Gordini engine, and set about its complete restoration, with its inevitable joys and sorrows.

Along with his brother-in-law, Claude has even bought his own workshop near his home, where, along with the Barzoi, a LotusEsprit JPS has been added to the collection and is being restored.
