09-2015 Historic motor sport meetings are occasions to meet interesting and unusual people. Honore Durand is certainly one of these. He has a collection of mainly French competition cars, including a rare DB Panhard which he enters regularly in the Le Mans Classic races.

He began his racing career at the wheel of a much-loved MEP-Panhard, and also in a Monomil which he shared with his late friend Andre Gawski. His contact with Marcadier began in 2003, when he met Andre Marcadier at the Charade Circuit. He initially purchased a barquette (sports racer), then a Barzoi, and finally, in 2014 ,Jean-Paul Paoli's barquette , which had a distinguished history in the hands of the driver from St Tropez.

Honore can often be found at circuits sharing the green Barzoi of his friend Frederic Clot: they have teamed up for several seasons now. At the age of 72, he keeps himself young at heart, sharing his passion by generously offering some of his cars to be driven by others at, for instance, the Le Mans Classic. We'll be seeing him in the Trophee Sport Auto Cup either in his Marcadier or in another French barquette which is currently being built.
