11-2015 Another FM01 barquette goes to Japan:

Firstly, there was Takashi Nakajima's, but now a second FM01 finds itself in Japan, in the hands of Shoji Murata who already possesses a Barzoi.

It's one of the very first kits, delivered in 1965 to the Gallois brothers, who were well-regarded competitors in the Lyon area. This car has a known hill-climb history, driven by Claude Gallois. It was first fitted with a Renault 8 Major engine, but this quickly made way for a Gordini version. The tail of the car, with its enclosed wheels, was replaced by the later version with a spoiler and open wheel arches.

Along with two other FM01's it appeared on the cover of February 1965's Sport Auto magazine. It competed in national hill-climbs until the late 1960's. After three decades of retirement it was acquired in 2008 and fully restored by a Lyon-based enthusiast. It now forms part of a varied collection which includes Grand Prix motorcycles, a Fiat 500 and, of course, a Barzoi.
